Dandeli Jungle Camp

The Camp

A rustic forest camp at Pradhani, near Dandeli, in Karnataka's Western Ghats. It is built around a hilltop, tree-house-inspired layout rather than a conventional hotel block — rooms and cottages set into a slope among the trees at Pradhani, a short distance from Dandeli town.

This is a working forest landscape as much as a place to stay — home to villages, a forest department, and, in the wider area beyond the property itself, a protected tiger reserve. The camp is a base for exploring that landscape, not a resort designed to keep it at a distance.

What staying here is actually like

Days here are built around being outdoors rather than around the room itself. Guests typically spend the day on activities — trekking, river time, birding — and come back to a straightforward, comfortable place to sleep, eat, and sit out in the evening. There is no organised resort entertainment; the forest, the river, and the pace of the day are the draw.

Accommodation ranges from simple, fan-cooled rooms to air-conditioned cottages, but the material palette and setting stay consistent across all of them — this is a rustic camp first, and the room categories are really about climate comfort and space, not a tiered luxury experience.

Meals, housekeeping, and a resident team of guides and staff are part of every stay, but the overall feel is closer to a forest outpost than a full-service hotel. If that sounds appealing rather than like a compromise, this is likely the right kind of trip for you.

Where you’ll sleep

Three room categories, each with the same forest setting and hilltop layout.

Standard Forest Room

Simple, comfortable, close to the ground.

A straightforward room built for people who plan to spend their day outdoors and just need a clean, comfortable place to sleep. Fan-cooled, with the kind of natural ventilation that works well in Dandeli's cooler months.

Deluxe AC Room

The same forest, with air-conditioning for warmer months.

Similar footprint to the Standard room, with air-conditioning added for guests visiting in the warmer months or who simply prefer it after a day of trekking or rafting.

Premium Cottage

A little more room to spread out after a longer stay.

The camp's larger stand-alone cottages, offered with the multi-night packages. More space, the same rustic material palette, and the same proximity to the forest edge.

Beyond the camp

The wider landscape around Pradhani and Dandeli is home to the Kali Tiger Reserve and a long list of forest and river activities. Sightings are never guaranteed, but the setting is real every day of the year.
